Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Whether you’re a fan of the Fashion Show or not, you have to admit the hair at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is always super-glam and sexy.

Every supermodel worth her salt strutted down the catwalk in New York last night showcasing the elaborately decorated lingerie designs, but our eyes were firmly on the effortless-looking waves that were donned by many of the angels.

Simple as it seems, this look is a style that’ll be requested a lot, especially when it comes to the party season; delicately-waved, glossy, shiny hair.

This is the type of style that lets the hair health do the talking. The only way it’ll look expense is if the hair itself is in amazing condition with a good colour. Jason Hogan, associate colourist at Josh Wood Colour in London recommends a little gloss to help glamorous hair translate in photos. “For truly stunning Victoria Secret Catwalk hair, a clear gloss just before an event adds exceptional shine and smoothness, this helps the hair capture light better in photographs. Simple but highly effective!”

And how do you create the effortless waves? Well there are a few to choose from…

The loose, beachy wave style that the VS Angels wear so well is admittedly one of my favourites and can be really easy to create. Using the correct curling iron to create this look is crucial, the Cloud Nine Waving Wand is one of my favourites and makes this effortless for you to style that tousled wave. Volumising products are important too, especially if you are working on a client with fine hair. – Krysia Eddery Perfectly Posh Hair Design

Tousled/bedhead hair is a favourite no matter what time of year and it works so well on most clients making it super versatile. Texturising sprays are a must to create that undone look and my top tip is to spray the under sections of the hair to add even more volume. Styling the hair into waves using a curling iron like the Hot Tools Pro Curl Bar and then gently backcombing or adding some Pro Blow rollers for extra oomph is also a great way to achieve that ‘undone’ look. Use a wide tooth comb to add some texture and body to the hair and the OUAI Texturising Spray will help instantly add some oomph to any hair type. Jay Birmingham, Jay Birmingham Hair

To achieve gorgeous sexy waves with volume like the Victoria Secret Angels the key is to prep the hair by washing it with a Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner to provide the hair with body and lift prior to styling and then by using a serum to avoid the hair from having frizz. Once you have blow-dried the hair, using curling irons or flat irons, take big sections of the hair and start to create your waves, wrapping the hair around the curling/flat iron towards your face to create fuller looking waves. Victoria Secret Angels hair is super glamorous, yet soft at the same time. My favourite way to achieve this look is with hot rollers that will provide hair with ultra volume and bounce. The key is to leave the hot rollers in as long as possible for the best results until they have completely cooled down then finish with a strong hold volumising hairspray to give hair that extra height. Finish with some hair oil to tame any frizz and flyaway hair and to give the hair shine. Karen Brown, Hair by JFK
