Styles that stood out at the Brit Awards

Stars galore, deluxe gowns and fabulous hairdos were the order of the day at the Brit Awards ceremony, which took place at The O2 Arena in London on 8 February.

Presented by the British Phonographic Industry, The Brit Awards recognise the best in British and international music and were this year presented by British comedian, Mo Gilligan

Singer Raye certainly had the most retro hairstyle of the night, a 1960s bouffant bob, teased very high, swept back completely offer her face, and reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy’s famous coif of that era.

Radio and TV presenter Vick Hope rocked a long, fulsome mass of waves complete with bangs.

DJ Maya Jama had her ultra long, centre-parted locks ultra sleek and straight and wore an outfit that mirrored Cher’s famous Oscars gown from 1986. It’s worth noting that this particular hairdo is also one of Cher’s iconic hairstyles.

Singer Anne-Marie opted for a severely pulled back, high, platinum blonde ponytail, while fellow singer Lola Young’s hair was also pulled back, but into two low, braided buns. This made her look almost Princess Leia-ish, but not quite.

Rapper Little Simz rocked her side-swept, twisted box braids, while fellow rapper (and songwriter) Bree Runway boasted one of the most striking looks of the night – a towering and tiered top knot high on her head, with the odd tendril here and there framing her face. Radio and TV presenter Clara Amfo’s very high braided ponytail that cascaded in twists down to hip level, was another contender for the most standout style of the night.

Former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts sported a long, subtly highlighted, blonde shaggy style, complete with eyelash-skimming bangs.

Fresh from her runner-up success in Strictly Come Dancing, TV presenter AJ Odudu chose the wet look for her long, loosely waved black hair. Also going for a similar look, albeit in a pastel pink tone, was TikTok star Abby Roberts, whose eye make-up was so bizarre that it detracted from her hair style.

Talking of unusual make-up, former X-Factor contestant, Tallia, wore blanket bright blue eye shadow that did detract somewhat from her lovely, beachy blonde long waves.

Always the epitome of classic high end glamour, singer Adele not only picked up three Brit Award trophies but also looked fabulous with long, gently waved and fulsome pale auburn-hued locks, tucked behind one ear.

Former ‘Friends’ star Courtney Cox made a surprise appearance on the red carpet, with her gently waved, long black locks complementing her voluminous jet black outfit. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)
