An ode to natural tresses

Local hair care brand, Jabu Stone, recently presented the second instalment of #COILCONVERSATIONS, a platform for discussing African hair and sharing knowledge.

The event took place on 27 May, to coincide with Africa Day celebrations, in Kramerville, Johannesburg. Actress and ‘naturalista’, Sihle Ndaba, was the MC and facilitated an entertaining panel discussion all around Jabu Stone’s newest product innovation.

Panelists were comprised of various natural and homeopath enthusiasts, all boasting a pan African approach to grooming and wellness. They were: Jabu Stone himself, Tiffany Lekuku (beauty and CBD enthusiast), Thobeka Mthembu (content creator) and Lerato Sengadi (holistic health enthusiast).

The discussion was filled with personal insights and contributions, knowledge and opinions around the topic of natural hair care, as well as myths and misconceptions about cannabis and its benefits.

“Jabu Stone is a brand with a strong heritage in the African consciousness movement, and for two decades has advocated for the ownership and celebration of African hair and how to maintain it at its best state. It was only fitting for us, in Africa month and just having celebrated Africa day, to bring back the #COILCONVERSATIONS platform with our close community of like-minded individuals. It’s an honour to be able to witness unapologetic African tresses in one place,” commented brand manager, Tumiso Mathebula.

The brand’s all-new cannabis range includes Multi-Purpose Spray, Braiding Spray, Moisturising Hair Food and Bees Wax.
