Would you describe your salon as ‘business fit’?

Hair salon owners and managers wanting to hone their business skills are encouraged to attend the ‘Get Business Fit’ Conference on Monday, 16 March at The Venue, Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

The conference will precede the inaugural Salon International Hair Awards Sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional Gala Dinner, which takes place at the same venue that very evening. Leading entertainer, Cathy Specific (aka Brendan Van Rhyn aka Frank. N. Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’) will host the awards and charm the audience.

Well known in the hair industry as a celebrated stylist, Co van Doorn has also made a name for himself as a public speaker. He will present at the ‘Get Business Fit’ Conference on the topic of ‘Keeping the business on track’. Van Doorn has been running his own business for over 20 years and has been involved for many years as a trainer in the industry. He currently distributes an international haircare brand in KZN.

Other speakers at the ‘Get Business Fit’ Conference include internationally acclaimed speaker and sales expert, Shelley Walters, employee and workplace culture authority, Stef du Plessis, and Kesh Naidoo of Channel Reach Marketing, among others.

Shelley Walters’ presentation, ‘Service that Sells’, will show delegates how to turn their businesses into a selling and serving machine. The quality of service delivered across an organisation has a direct impact on sales, both in terms of increased client retention and new business. Walters will cover how the world of client expectations is changing and what you need to do about it; what it is that brings clients back to your business; the six expectations clients have of your business; and how to clarify and exceed client expectations. She will also share real-world stories of ordinary businesses delivering extraordinary service.

Stef du Plessis will give delegates tips on how to change their business for the better. He helps companies to improve their bottom-line results by growing their people and creating winning workplace cultures. His insights, teachings and methodologies create turning points for individuals, leaders, teams and organisations alike.

Keshantha Naidoo will focus on how businesses can use social media algorithms to make Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter work for them. More speakers and topics for the conference will be confirmed soon.
