Chazlyn Kruger of CW International Hair, Beauty & Barbery in Cape Town, is one of nine stylists from around the world selected to perform on stage in the final of Intercoiffure Mondial’s first ever TRENDblast hair video competition on 1 June in Paris.
The other eight finalists in the competition hail from Australia, Austria, Sweden, Japan, Uruguay, Brazil, Switzerland and Ukraine.
TRENDblast is open to Intercoiffure Mondial members or any licensed hairdresser (stylist or colourist) currently working in an Intercoiffure salon. Intercoiffure Mondial is the only international hairdressing organisation of its kind, with a diverse community that includes more than 3,000 top salons in 55 countries.
Competitors in TRENDblast selected a primary inspiration from one of three Intercoiffure trends (Eclectica, Urban Zen & Quest) and developed their creative interpretation into a final beautiful, inspiring and wearable hair look. Once perfected, the next level of creativity was to capture their final hair look in a one-minute video submission.
The international audience that will witness the live performances of the TRENDblast finalists on 1 June will be equipped to vote for the winner of each category. Results will be revealed on stage during the gala dinner. The TRENDblast competition forms part of Intercoiffure Mondial’s biggest global event for the year, Modial Spotlight 2019.
An award winning senior stylist based in the Western Cape, Chazlyn Kruger has been creating waves in the hair and beauty industry for more than 15 years, with both local and international work experience. She regularly participates at various events, such as Gauteng Fashion Week,and has developed her skills in alignment with international techniques and hair designs. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)
