The stars were out in force at the 50th Annual American Music Awards in Los Angeles on 20 November, with the red carpet a smorgasbord of eye-popping outfits and fabulous hair.
Supermodel Joan Smalls was seen wearing an arguably questionable trend recently made popular on TikTok – the jellyfish haircut. This style is a combination of a blunt bob and the dreaded mullet. The top layer is cut short all around the head like a pudding bowl, with the rest left long.
Singer, actress and former Disney star, Dove Cameron, had a particularly striking look - her raven-coloured, centre-parted hair was tightly pulled back into a high ponytail, with an ultra-thin, ultra-long baby braid framing each side of her face.
Latina pop star Becky G sported a studiously messy updo, which popsugar.com described as ‘Pamela Anderson-inspired’.
Singer, dancer and actress, Tinashe, rocked a set of intricate and elegant Bantu knots to offset her statement sunglasses.
Actress-singer Sabrina Carpenter went for fulsome, beachy-blonde long waves that cascaded down her back.
R&B singer Ari Lennox had her long hair flowing from the top of her head in a fountain ponytail, while pop star Meghan Trainor’s long blonde hair was worn in a casual loose style.
Kelly Rowland rocked a short, centre-parted blunt cut bob, with Taylor Swift opting for pre-Raphaelite waves. A similar look was seen on country star Carrie Underwood. Karrueche Tran’s slick-backed side ponytail featured an unusual wavy parting.
Pink’s usually very short blonde hair remained close-cropped but had a distinctly silvery tone. German singer-songwriter Kim Petras’ straight blonde locks reached her waist. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)
