The recent Emmy Television Awards, held in Los Angeles under strict social distancing regulations and featuring many virtual acceptance speeches, had its fair share of red carpet glamour in the hair and fashion stakes.
In addition to looking fabulous, Nigerian-American actress and comedienne Yvonne Oriji’s close-cropped, side-parted style made a strong socio-political statement by having the Black Lives Matter logo barbered into her hair above one ear.
Reese Witherspoon opted for an old-style Hollywood glam, with her long highlighted blonde hair in soft, vintages waves coming off a side parting. Her dark roots were purposely quite visible.
Regina King had a naturally curly and unconstrained updo, with lots of loose tendrils framing her face in the most flattering manner.
Emmy winner and star of Euphoria, Zendaya, had her slicked back into a sleek bun coming from an extreme side parting.
Singer and songwriter H.E.R. wore her hair in a striking, very long and bedazzled pony plait, with swooped edges around her face, while Kerry Washington sported a sleek, blunt cut, chin-length bob.
Rachel Brosnahan had her layered, shoulder-length, glossy dark hair styled into tousled waves. Also going with shoulder-length waves, only in blonde, was Catherine O’Hara, the Emmy Award-winning star of Schitt’s Creek. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)’
